Narainapur literate village municipality declaration

Banke. Narainapur village municipality has been declared literate. Ajay Srivastava, chairman of the District Coordinating Committee, Banke, has declared the village municipality literate today amid a program organized at Mahendra Secondary School, Ward No. 5, Matihiya.

Speaking at a program chaired by Istiaq Ahmed Shah, Chairman of the Municipality, Ajay Kumar Srivastava, Chairman of the District Coordinating Committee, Banke, said that the municipality was declared literate after 96.19 percent of the illiterate people were literate. He said that he was very happy to make Narainapur literate and added that he would continue to make the district fully literate. The kind of happiness we are expressing today in making Narainapur village literate, we have many steps behind it, we have to move forward with many other things, so now you were urged to play a role in making the rest literate. Chairman of Narainapur Village Municipality Shah said that the municipality has now emphasized on educational development to create employment. He emphasized the need to revise the definition of literacy

UML district member Sohan Lal Yadav said that declaring Narainapur village municipality literate was an achievement in itself. He said that since our education has not changed yet, he urged us to work seriously.

Chief of Education Krishna Kumar Tharu had informed that Narainapur had started literacy campaign on September 8, 2008 to make its 9,175 illiterate citizens literate. He said that the village municipality was declared literate after 8,826 of them became literate. Narainapur has become the sixth literate municipality of Banke. Now Nepalgunj and Duduwa are yet to be declared literate.

The program was addressed by District Coordinating Committee Chief Srivastava, Village Municipality Chairman Shah, Education Development and Coordination Unit Banke Chief Ram Suresh Yadav, Village Municipality Chief Administrative Officer Bharat Basnet, Ward No. 3 Chairman Raj Kumar Maurya and UML leader Sohan Lal Yadav. including Alam Khan, Editor of Youth Today News, Seraj Khan, Senior Journalist, Kalam Neupane, Editor of Iseto Khari, Journalist Bhagat Tharu, Tilak Gaule, Krishna Oli, Nabin Giri, Shorab Giri and others played a vital role in making the literacy campaign a success. Certificates of appreciation and tokens of love were given to the organizations.
